Camino Portuguese, mid May, which one?

I start from Porto 12.5. Consider walking to Vila do Conde along the coast. Stay overnight there and then join walk inland and join the Central around Arcos. I am 70 years, fit, like to walk alone but appreciate to see other pilgrims on the Camino. I like walking distances of about 20 km per day. I have time. I have walked the Camino Frances, finished it from Roncevalles to Santiago in 2013.

Appreciate input with advice from you.

You also just described me! I also am 70, reasonably fit, and plan to start my 2nd Camino from Porto (1st was from Leon in May 2014) in mid May. Maybe we will cross trails.

Buen Camino, although Im feeling like I will be walking my Camino alone, which it might be meant to be, so many are walking thr CP but in April/May or in Sept but walking the Camino Frances !

The walk along the coast is not to be missed. You might even want to stay overnight in Matosinhos instead of taking the metro from the city to there. The extra 10km of walking along the water front from Porto to Matosinhos might be a little much.

Virtually the entire walk is newer boardwalk. Very nice and easy to walk. Close to Vila do Conde while walking on older boardwalk, a loose board tripped me and I fell down. I am SO LUCKY I was not hurt. This could have been a Camino ending event. Be very careful on the old boardwalk.

Instead of staying in the albergue right as you come into town, consider Erva Doce two blocks away (not far from the "pirate ship"). It was a very nice room that I ended up having to myself.

The next day leaving Vila do Conde, we almost missed a turn in the first town (I think). There is an extremely faint yellow arrow on the curb where you turn to the right. Good luck! Bon Caminho.
