Hey, friends!

I published a story about my first Camino. I thought you might enjoy it. This link takes you to a website of articles and stories. It's safe, and this is a "Friend" link. Typically, you have to pay $5 per month to be a member, actually well worth it.

I've noticed a lot of pilgrims tend to publish Camino stories there, kind of cool. Not as good as here, though!

I enjoyed it a lot, thanks, Deb!
You have a lovely way with words.

I so resonated witb this:
People were kind to me. I was kind back. And I became myself again.
Concise and to the point, covering a whole lot of ground. Why keep returning? That's why!

Your story really resonated with me, walking The Camino after retirement gave me a renewed sense of freedom and a real sense of joy. I am now waiting to walk my fourth way, inspired by accounts like yours.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Another warm and generous tale. Sometimes the most unlikely people turn into the best companions. Thank you for sharing your stories.
I wish I'd make the point stronger that I got as much from her as I think she got from me. I didn't realize she would bring so much sunshine, and some of my pilgrim buddies were worried it would be too much. She turned out to be the most remarkable, strong person, and so thoughtful and good.

An acquaintance on social media saw it and said, “Oh, honey! you need a YOU day! You need a facial, and oh — you look so tired!”
Seriously??!
🤣
Maybe they're tired and think they need a facial (no one does - how ridiculous!), but you look great.

Thanks for the post. And good to have you back, thinking about walking.

Thanks, a lovely, generous spirit shining through your words. A great start to my Sunday, with my coffee! I just noticed you walked the West Highland Way, and you claim to be an old lady?... tell us more! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

And I thought it would be easy! No, honestly, it was a little challenging when I was trying to drop down between a few boulders and my right foot got stuck "back there," but my husband pried it on and supported a little bit of my body so I wasn't relying on the misplaced foot, ha ha!

I will write a story about WHW soon, promise! It's a stunningly beautiful walk from Mulngavie to Fort William, about 100 miles.

The first day walking seemed to go on forever for my traveling companion (the hubs) who --after 9 m. or so--said, when are we getting there? we should be here! you said another hour! and so on.

As soon as he learned "the drill," which is that you get there when you get there, and yes, there's a bed, and yes, there's food and drink, and yes, there is comfort, he was fine! Our first night was fantastic, in a little town with old tavern, delicious hearty stew and meet, and the ciders he loves (Strongbow!). Then he was reassured I hadn't signed us up for a wacky situation in which we'd be sleeping in a ditch (I do THOSE).

Buen Camino!

Yeah, thanks! I am still dealing with the Big C as it were, but as the optimistic I am, I just paid for four years on the Camino Forum!

That's optimism!
I have also recently paid my four years: it seemed like a reasonable cost and would prevent my forgetting to pay in the interim. But o course it is also a marvellous bargain and encourages us to believe in our future camino walks. I hope that we shall meet again on one of them. Blessings.

Love the way you string your words together, @CaminoDebrita 🙂

Good to see you on here again!

And I probably overuse this phrase a little, but: You can’t keep a good woman down!

Here’s to your victory over the Big C!! 🥂
Yeah--honestly, in the last five yearsL
1. husband cancer
2. husband broke neck
3. family member dead from covid
4. wildfires and had to evacuate all the cows and etc.
5. and then me!

It's been kind of a hard go, but I'm getting excited again about my adventures!

Thanks so much, CC <3

And you are still standing, a thoroughly courageous human being, in all of this, and still radiating love (and joy in the hope of another camino).

Respect, CD!!!

And profound admiration ❤️
