I need to change Camino plans that have been in place for a while.I was originally scheduled to walk for three weeks, May 3-25. Something has come up and I need to move my trip to the fall. I would appreciate any suggestions about when in September my 3 weeks should commence, departing from Burgos. (I'm leaning towards the last week in September, and am not a fan of hot weather.)

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Depends on whether you want lots of company and the maximum of facilities. Early September is likely to be very busy - peak season. If you start at the end of September then numbers should be decreasing. Most albergues and bars will still be open but a few may close. Personally I'd prefer to leave it as late as possible as I dislike large crowds.

Late September; it’s a great time to walk.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I really can't tolerate heat very well, and the last weeks of September were perfect. But, a lot of people last week in September/first in October from Sarria and in, I must say, if that matters.
