Hi all,
Just finished the Camino Frances (and very much missing life on the star way). Planning in my next camino-possibly spring-to walk from Condom to SJPP before continuing on the Frances again. Any comments about the scenery/way on this section?
Thanks
Heather

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

It is pretty flat after Condom, though there are many little ups and downs. The best scenery of the Le Puy route will be behind you. The villages are great, however.

The bit between Condom and Navarrenx is rather flat and mostly "big agriculture". After that you start catching some foothills and some nice views on the mountain crest. The little towns in the Basque area are quite charming.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Hi Heather

I too am starting from Condom near where I live, mid May. Contemplating the first night in Eauze (instead of coming home to Lauraet for the night!) and plan to finish at Santiago towards the end of June. Perhaps we could accompany one another at some stage?

I plan to begin my 2013 walk in Le Puy. I am about to book my air ticket Toronto to Paris for mid-April. Should I pre-book my initial accommodation from home or wait until I get to France. Is anyone else starting then?
Looking for advice please. I want to keep the costs reasonable and my French is weak. I am working on improving!!! I did the Frances route (with my son) in fall 2011 from SJPP.

Walking in April, you will not encounter large crowds of other walkers on the Le Puy route. On the other hand, that is very early in the season and there will be fewer gites open (even if MMD does indicate open from Easter to All Saints). Plus, only about a quarter (or less) of the MMD listings indicate facility in English.

You could book for your arrival in Le Puy, and the initial week following (Le Puy to Aumont-Aubrac or so). That would give you reassurance without binding you unnecessarily.
