Camino Portugese 2017 plan, La Puy to Figeac 2017 plan
Having completed Le Puy to Conques this year, I am planning to walk from Conques to Toulouse in 2018. However I cant seem to find anyone who has done this section for advice on track conditions, signage etc. So , if anyone out there has walked the Conques-Toulouse route, or knows about it, please respond so I can communicate with you.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I just looked at my French map (#903) Long Distance Footpaths in France. According to the map there is no Grande Randonée route connecting Conques and Toulouse. The closest thing to it would be to walk south and then southeast starting on the GR6 until it connects with the Chemin d'Arles (there is a section on this Forum devoted to this trail). Alternatively, you could continue on the Chemin du Puy almost to Cahors and then turn south on the GR36 which would bring you close to Albi. It's a quick train ride from Albi to Toulouse with several trains a day.

I have walked only a short distance on the GR36, so the info I have provided comes solely from the map I have. You could send an email message to the Bureau de Tourisme in Conques and that office should be able to verify most of what I have told you and advise you whether you would find much in the way of services if you try either route I mentioned.

Bon chemin.

from Conques to Toulouse in 2018.
According to this map from the FFRG folks https://www.ffrandonnee.fr/data/CMS/files/randonnee/carte-sentiers-gr-ffrandonnee-2017.pdf, there is a route. There is a fork after Conques and before Figeac; it appears to be the GR46. It passes through Villafranche-de-Rouergue, Gorges de l'Aveyron Penne, and Lisle-sur-Tarn before reaching Toulouse.
There is a guidebook with maps, available in French here: https://boutique.ffrandonnee.fr/topo-guide-le-chemin-de-conques-a-toulouse

Bon CHemin!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
This alternative has been promoted by the ACIR association. See the info (itinerary, topography, distances, etc.) here
There is also a printed guide. Everything in French, obviously.
If you stay in Toulouse, you may find useful my pilgrim's guide to the charming "pink city", in the "resources" place of this forum. Please excuse my self-promotion, and if you have some correction or addition, send me a PM.

Hi Tom, I have the maps -the route is take the GR65 for a short while from Conques and then head south GR 62b until the GR36 and then the GR46.
There are a number of web sites that describe the route, including topo data. I have acommodation all planned out and confirmed too. What I am seeking is advice from anyone who has actually walked the route and also data on the number of people who take it. I have a feeling I will be by myself.
I will take your advice and contact the Conques tourism people.

Hi Marousi,

I walked this section as part of my Camino last year. I started in Le Puy. Then took this route down to Toulouse from Conques.

My stops were in Cransac, Peyrusse le Roc, Villefranche de Rouergue, Najac, Cordes sur Ciel, Gaillac, Rabastens, Montastruc la Conseillère and then finally Toulouse.

From there I continued on to St. Jean Pied de Port and ultimately Sanitiago.

It was last June, so it's not totally fresh in my mind, but I would be happy to talk with you about it and answer any questions as best I can.

Buen Camino!

Rob

Thanks, Rob. I will follow the same route as you, but will have a rest day in Cordes sur Ciel. I have the FFR guide book and have read the web site of the ACIR.. What I am really interested in is the state of the signage along the route. Walking the GR65 I found the signage very good. How did you find the signage from Conques to Toulouse ? If the GR65 was rated 100, how would you rate the signage on this section ? I am considering whether to invest in a GPS device to help with navigation if the signage is poor.
Also, were there many/any other pilgrims on the route when you walked it ? I will be departing Conques on 22 May. Thanks for your advice.
