Camino Frances (2013)
Left the Monastery early this morning. What a great day for a walk (and no mountain to have to climb!). We took our pictures in front of the "Santiago de Compostela 790km" sign as most people do. Very nice paths to walk on and then walked through the town of Burgete with its nice stone sidewalks. We stopped at a bar with outside seating in Viscarret-Guerendiain for a bite to eat. Met a lot of nice people there. We walked down a country road, then through another nice town and then through a pasture and into the woods. Coming down off a hill, we crossed the N-135 and there was a vending truck with lots of Coca-Cola advertising on it. It was a real nice break after a couple hours of walking. Even the locals stopped there in their cars for a refreshment! Heading off to Zubiri for the night. . . . . ONE YEAR LATER. . . [Ring, ring]. . "Hello?. . What am I doing? Just thinking about what I was doing one year ago today!" What a fabulous trip. Can't wait to go back again :D

We almost did the exact same thing, down to the stop in Viskarret, seeing the Coca Cola truck and spending the night in Zubiri.
