I have bitten the bullet and decided to return to the CF for my second Camino. Although the first walk lasted 35 days it was something of a blurr. I'm going at the same time of year but suspect it will still mange to be very different. I must say I have enjoyed the recent threads on second Caminos and they have helped me think through the choices.

I'm flying to Biarritz afternoon of 7th April, then plan a Bus to Bayonne, train/Bus to SJPdP

I hope to meet some of you on the way and now at Tertulia in SdC.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Leaving from SJPdP also April 8th. Starting mid morning and spending the night in Orisson. Perhaps we'll bump into one another.

Hi dgassa, yes I plan to stop over at Orisson. I have walked the Valcaros route and found it a tough start getting to Roncessvalles in one , so I hope a two stage approach and the opportunity to walk the Napoleon will be a good compromise.

See you at dinner !

Hi Kevin_A

Completed the Le Puy-en-Velay to SJPdP last April May 2014 and I plan starting from Roncesvallees on 8 April with my wife. Look out for the two Australians (Aussies) as I am sure we will cross paths, we have a rest day in Pamplona so you may see us roaming around there.

The walk from SJPdP to Roncesvalles is a fair hike and is quite hard towards the end of the Valcaros route (steep). It was a delightful and scenic walk.

All the best and have a great journey. Hope to see you on the trail.

Thanks. You will probably pickus by the Aussie accent.

Also, if you are planning to go over the Napolean Route, check with the pilgim office in SJPdP and they can advise if there is snow and if the pass is open, otherwise Valcaros is a pretty good walk through some splendid forest and river beds, and some on road walking unfortunately.

Hope to see you soon.
