Donating a bicycle in Santiago

Hello Everyone,
First question on the forum and first Camino!
I'm planning on riding from SJPdP in early March 2016 bringing my own bike from Australia. I had the good fortune of winning a basic MTB bike in our local cyclefest last year and felt that this was a sign to ride the Camino this year. I would like to pass on my good fortune at the end of my Camino. Does anyone know where I can usefully donate or leave my bicycle in Santiago where it would be of benefit?

Thanks for any ideas :)

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The single best suggestion I have is to wheel your bicycle(s) over to the Pilgrim House at Rua Nova 19 in Santiago. This street is parallel to Rua do Vilar, one street further from the Plaza Obradoiro.

The Pilgrim House is a nondenominational volunteer service organization to provide a wide range of assistance and services to pilgrims. They will happily take your bicycles and ANY other useable gear, clothing, or supplies off your hands to donativo use by other pilgrims in need. Do be kind, and rinse all the mud off the bicycle first.

I worked with them daily, last year, while I was serving as a volunteer at the Pilgrim Office in July and August. They are all wonderful people.:)

I hope this helps.

Amazing spirit, Pete. t2andreo has a good suggestion. I'd go a step further and maybe look for an orphanage or a place like this and leave it for the boys or girls there? Just a thought.... Buen Camino and may your fortunes and karma return to you many times over :) Caesar

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I think a lot of people depart SdC for Pamplona, or SJPP. It is an interest of mine to walk the Camino Frances backwards, to be honest. My vote is Pilgrim House. One bike for a pilgrim, who then donates it again in SJPP to go back to SdC again.
