Easter 2024 Camino question

Time of past OR future Camino
March 27-April 2 2024 Sarria - Santiago
Hi Everyone - I'm traveling with my best friend and our 2 adult daughters. This has been a dream of my daughters since she was in High School and we are finally going. We travel a lot and I do all our planning but this is a little different and I'm starting to panic a bit;) I have our accommodations and flights booked - packing list down (I think) but concerned on how we will get to Sarria.

We arrive in Madrid the morning of March 27th and am looking at trains to Sarria. They all say sold out. Is this accurate or am I looking to book too early? If it truly is sold out what alternatives would you suggest.

Thanks, Susan

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Not sold out on Renfe but tickets not on sale yet.

Yes, as SabsP has indicated, the tickets have not yet been released by Renfe. Often tickets are not available until 30 days out. But do keep checking back regularly so that you can act quickly when you do see them, because the Semana Santa period will increase demand for tickets.

And have a wonderful Camino. What a fabulous thing for you, your friend and your daughters.

Check Iberia and you can also fly to Santiago from Madrid and take a bus (Monbus.es) from the airport to Sarria. This was a cheaper option a few weeks ago. One bus per day. Take the early Iberia flight (7:15 or so) and the bus leaves from the airport at 11:15 a.m. arrives in Sarria early afternoon.

Monbus tickets not yet available for your dates.
