I took a Gregory Juno 36. It was not nearly large enough due to the medications and continuous glucose monitoring devices. I did not pack extra clothes except for socks. But I wear two pairs and change them during the day.A 38L pack seems awfully large to me.
I take a 28L Jade and have plenty of space.

Both are great options. I opted for the 38 because I'll get more use out of it for other non camino activities. 28L is quite limiting for my non camino needs.A 38L pack seems awfully large to me.

Exactly, we all have different needs. I wouldn't say a 38 is too large at all, it seems to be around the average range from what I've seen. I will also be taking these items. Daily I fill in my eyebrows, pop on mascara and lippy and if I’m really living it up, dab on some blush!
