Finally Walking the Camino Inglés – Overcoming Setbacks and Challenges

In 2019, I was all committed to walk the Camino Inglés, I had everything planned, outbound travel booked and I was doing daily training walks to really get in shape. Then my left Achilles tendon let me down- it was quite a bad rupture, it took more than 6 month before I was able to really walk again. So had to cancel that Camino. Summer 2020 I was back in shape, had everything planned, but then the Covid-situation just escalated, so I had to cancel once again. I then hoped for the summer of 2021, but the pandemic still seemed to be going quite strong, so I decided to just wait. Now, in 2022, I’m back where I started: Once again everything is planned to walk the Inglés followed by Finisterre & Muxia, travel to Ferroll via A Coruña is booked as are the first couple of accommodations. It feels good! – once again I have a “Camino project” and this time I will go! I feel as if my spirit has been on the Inglés for years and in August my body will follow – inshallah!

How wonderful, I hope your plan comes to pass.
We also have waited for 2 years, and are just starting to review our plan from 2019, it feels so good to once again have a Camino project.

Buen camino. Having done your planned route I'm sure you'll find it worth the wait. If you have time to explore A Coruña you might like to visit the ancient lighthouse, Tower of Hercules. I found it very interesting and loved the view from the top looking towards Ferrol and where I was about to walk.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have planned an extra day in Ferroll and in Muxia and a couple of days in Santiago at the end (first time I'll just "pass through" - stay a single night). I heard that A Coruña is a nice city, I'll see if I can 'twist' my travel plan a bit
