First Camino in May

Ona

New Member
Greetings, my name is Ona and I plan to begin my Camino Journey around May 14th from St. Jean-de-Pied-de-Port. My home is in New York City and I am walking all over the city to get ready for the pilgrimage. I welcome insights and suggestions as I prepare -- anyone from the US planning a journey around this time?!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Hello Ona,
We are neighbors - as the forum goes - I live in CT. Welcome! Unfortunately I shall not be on the Way at the same time as you, but rather later in the year. However, you will meet many, many pilgrims - although not so many from the States.

Enjoy your preparation and planning!
Buen Camino,

I'll start the 16th of May 2009 from SJPP and so I'll be 2 days after you on my first camino.
Buen camino!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I´m starting in Roncesvalles May 14, so just ahead of you. Since I don't walk fast you´ll probably catch me up within a day or so!

Sandra!
I'm probably a slow walker since it's my first time on a trekking like this. Maybe hopefully we'll see each other somewhere on the camino!
annie (my birthday is in August (the 4th) so is yours?) :)

It´s my first time too, Annie, lets see who´s the slowest :!: :!: :!:

Sandra (birthday´s August 20)

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
HISANDRA!

Is everything fine? No problems? Im in Zubiri now. Started in SJPP the 15th of May as planned. Walked first to Orisson, stayed at the hostel there. Saturday over the mountains, it was beautiful in the sun shine, pretty hard in the wind. Today to Zubiri.

The weather has been pretty nice and comfortable, but yesterday when going down the hill from 1450 m to Roncesvalles we had to walk in the fog! Hasnt been raining yet.

My name is Sandra and I am from Central Florida. My first camino was in May and the first part of June. I was walking slow, no hill to practice on where I live by the beach, but it was a fantastic time. My birthday is August 5th.
