First Time - Advise Needed!

I am anticipating walking the Camino next year. I want to start in Aire-Sur-Adour walking to St. Jean Pied de Port. It will be my first time and the chances are that I will be on my own. Therefore, I am looking at doing it through http://www.worldwalks.com. Any suggestions? Have anyone here used them before? My long term goal is to eventually end up in Santiago, but that will take a few trips as I am not able to do it in one shot.

I concur! You don't need a group tour to do this walk successfully. There are plenty of lodgings, the route is topographically benign, and well marked. Read the blogs (see blog section above) so see reported experience with stages. You will get much, much more out of the experience if you undertake it yourself, rather than relying on a group tour. If, however, your personal circumstances still point you in that direction, by all means, do it.

Guides and booking services are a scam that live off your fear and uncertainty. Each day your host can arrange your next night and baggage service if you need it, and it will be free. Don't let those with some experience in caminos make you think it is difficult to do it on your own. It is not. If you use someone to arrange your trip, after two days you will see how they have taken advantage of your trepidation!!

Buy a guidebook and just go. And just because you learn of guides and planners on the Forum, it does not mean you have not been scammed; only that the scammer has learned how to cleverly market through Ivar's goodwill.

I concur, you don't need an organised tour. You will find it much more satisfying to do it all yourself. Like most things in life, you get back what you put in.
