Time of past OR future Camino
May 2014
Hello everyone,

My name is Lucy from Scotland and I am heading to the Camino from St Jean this May. It will be my first time and I am travelling alone which is both exciting and daunting.

One of my good friends did it last year and I can't wait to start my journey. I have started to look through the forum for help and suggestions.

It would be great to know if anyone else is heading out the end of April start of May.

Hi Lucy, welcome to the forum!

I'll be starting my first Camino as well from SJPP on 27 April. I'm really looking forward to it! Have a look at the calender under the events section. There you ought to see if anyone is starting on the same date as you.

If you're uncertain about anything, simply ask. There is more than enough people here eager to help out us first timers. Best of luck in your preparations!

Hello,

Thank you very much for your reply, I will check out the calendar. I am also looking at starting on the 27th, just looking at travel plans.

It's all I can think about right now. So excited.

Are you staying in SJPD the night before? Is that what is recommended before starting the walk?

Starting from Leon May 8 for last 300 km, also traveling alone so good to know other females travelling alone, nice to have a bit of company in the evenings for dinner

Yes I am, though I have not reserved a bed. Will simply show up and see what's available. By all accounts the first day is for many the most strenuous so sleeping over and then being able to start early is most likely the best option.
