Camino Portugues 2012
Hey, I'm Jess & I'm starting the Camino out of Porto in just two weeks!! I am really excited, but also a bit nervous because I haven't been planning this as long as some. It's the perfect time in my life to go though, & I am looking forward to the adventure!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Welcome to the Forum.

The camino Portugues is lovely, you will enjoy it. The question of preparation is a very personal one, some people prepare for ages some hardly at all, the best advice I read before my first camino was: 'Don't walk the camino before the camino!'
There is lots of advice here about the various route possibilities, whilst there are not as many Albergues as on the Frances there are certainly enough, and they are well equiped in Portugal, Albergues in Galicia usually have a lack of equipment in the kitchens!
Bom caminho!
Sue

I am considering doing this walk next spring. I lived in Porto for 3 months and know the countryside a bit. The Portuguese are kind and generous people, so I know that I will feel safe on this route. I'm interested in your adventure, so please keep posting!!

I walked it last year in April, and would happily walk it again. It is beautiful! The diary of my camino, and links to over 100 photographs are on my web site if you're interested!

Bom caminho!

Stephen.

I apologize for the lapse in time since my first post. My Camino adventure was incredible! It taught me many valuable lessons & I met amazing people. The Portuguese people are very giving and kind, and were always there to assist when they thought I might need help with anything. I loved the Camino and the people I met along the way! I bet that you will love it too!
