Time of past OR future Camino
First timer Arriving on June 14th 2018 with my daughter.
My daughter is graduating high school this June, going to school away from home in August. For her graduation gift trip she asked to walk the Camino, as time was approaching I thought she would change her mind; not! On 2 of her classes the subject came out and increased her desired. Last Sunday while she was confirming, during the homithe Bishop brought up the Camino as he too walked last October, not as long as we are planning. That was the last sign she needed to make her final decision and nothing changed her mind. Flying from CA to ParĂs on June 12th. Arriving June 13th. Is the plane to Biarritz the best route time & money wise? In her search she has us flying from Paris to Biarritz, then train to St Jean where we are supposed to start on June 14th. Any thoughts on better route from Paris to starting point?
I thank you in advance

I believe I took a train from Paris to Bayonne then either a bus or train from there to SJPdP a few years back to get there.

I'm planning to start walking on June 15th. Won't be a long day as I'll be arriving in SJPdP early on the 15th but not early enough to go all the way over the mountains. Maybe I'll see you on the Way. Buen Camino.

I believe there are still rail strikes in France until July. I recommend flying to Biarritz/Bayonne and take the bus to Saint Jean as I believe the railroad tracks are being repaired.

So stay with my plan of flying then. Thanks. Flight was a little expensive

Timewise, flying is the quickest. An option from Biarritz airport to St Jean is Express Bouricott.

the train can be expensive as well....did you look at easy jet flights?
I did. I was hesitant since our flight gets to Paris at 3:40pm I didn’t wanna start our exploring at night while tired so we sleeping over and flying next day. If all goes as planned we should arrived June 14 at noon. Guessing we should wait and start bright and early next day. What are your thoughts. I’m dort of blind to this

Yes, start early the next day if you are walking all the way to Roncesvalles. If not, you can sleep in a bit.

I will be flying into Paris on the same day. Still haven't decided on wether to get a flight or take the train from Paris. Still researching options.
