After changing my mind so many times about which one, finally decided to walk from Bilbao to Santiago via Camino do Mar, then Camino Ingles. Starting on March 1st so it will be early and cold, but I am so looking forward to it. It doesn't appear too many people are walking in March so, all those good foods all to myself! I am hoping to greet many early blooming flowers. I couldn't find an app for Camino do Mar, so I am going to rely on Wikiloc and good old Google.

Provided you are not allergic to paper, you might find the Cicerone guide "Camino Ingles and Ruta do Mar" useful. My edition is from 2019. I don't know if there is a more recent one.

Look forward to hearing about the Camino Ingles, I'm introducing my 12 year old granddaughter to pilgrim life with the shortest official Camino I could find! A big change for me after the Norte/Primito last September. We're starting end May. Buen Camino! I got the kindle version of John Brierley Camino Ingles.

Hi Mera, I walked the Camino del Norte from San Sebastián to Santiago in September 2015, the most beautiful landscapes, villages and towns, great food & not overcrowded with pelgrims. As you are walking along the coast & the gulf of Biscay the weather can be unpredictable & rain is more likely than it is inland. A poncho might come in handy. The guide I brought: Pilgrim route, the northern Caminos, Laura Petazzoli & Dave Whittington, Cicerone. The App I would advise: Mapout.app. Buen Camino !

Hello,
Yes, Camino Ingles would be a good one for your granddaughter. It's mostly flat and lovely. I walked last year and uploaded my days to this forum. If you like, you may search the below title. Ingles is toward the last a few days because I walked it in 4 days.

Live from Camino del Norte, followed by Camino InglĂ©s!

Oh David, you are so kind. I walked Ingles last fall, so I have a few places I liked, but new to do Mar. This is very helpful. Thank you! There were two hotels I stayed last year, but not listed on your list are:
"Hotel Gran of Ferrol" and "Hotel Crisol de Las Rias" in Miño. Hotel Crisol was around 35 Euros, an outstanding hotel with a restaurant and ocean view rooms. Hotel Canaima has a good restaurant.

Yes, indeed, the Norte is my favorite. I see that you visited Playa De Xakoneta also. Wasn't that a lovely place! The beauty of the Norte and wonderful local people I get to meet along the way always pull me back to the same route. This time, I really tried to walk another route but at the end I gave in and am following my heart again. I enjoyed your photos. Thank you!
