From Palencia to Fromista

Hi all pilgrims on the Way, at home or travelling towards the Way.
I'll continue my "camino de frances" from Fromista on the 4. September. I have already made some accommodation reservations. Also bought a renfe ticket fr Madrid to Palencia, but couldn't buy ticket from there to Fromista, they say that reg.train is full on that day.
I can't find any bus routes either. What can I do, is the taxi the only option?

The trains from Palencia to Fromista are Regional Expres services. These are not reservable so I am puzzled about how they can be full. You should simply be able to buy a ticket on the day and travel.

According to RENFE there are works on the relevant line and journeys must be completed by bus. It’s unusual to be able to book tickets on RENFE so far in advance. I’d be inclined to try again in mid to late August before I bothered with trying to track down alternatives

Edit: @Bradypus spotted that which I hadn’t. It’s hard to book an unbookable ticket

You could walk it. 14km to Monzon de Campos where there is a hotel, and then 20km the next day to Fromista.

This actually part of a Camino - I think it is the Castellano Lebaniego. Worth a thought.

Hi @erjanneli how did you end up getting from palencia to fromista? I will be starting my walk from fromista the week before easter but it seems like alll train tickets directly from madrid to fromista are full. I could get to Palencia and then find my way from there... what did you do?
