Hi, I will traveling from Paris to St Jean on the 13th of September to start my camino and am really struggling with the french rail website as i dont know french and the translate google thing is not helping me much. Can any one here help me out, Im pretty sure that i need to catch a train from Paris To Bayonne but that is about all i know. I would like to know if its just a normal train or do i need to book and if so how do i do that, and perhaps some timetable information would be great, Thanks in advance

The French site is translated to English by a fellow pilgrim. Everythings is there - what kind of credit card you must use, where to pick up the tickets, what to take into consideration...

Hi Vanessa,

Have a look at this website as it has a timetable for the Paris to Bayonne TGV
http://bonjourlafrance.net/france-trains/tgv-bordeaux-south-west/paris-ile-de-france-hendaye.htm then click on the link to your country of origin. I am from Australia and the link took me to http://www.raileurope.com.au/

I booked tickets for me and my wife for September, paid using credit card and for a courier to deliver the tickets and we had them in a few days. They even have allocated seats. We just have to remember to validate them at Paris before getting on the train.

We plan to overnight in Bayonne at the Hotel Paris-Madrid which is just outside the train station although I am not sure if we can book over the internet.

The process of booking was easy but I put an incorrect email address into the system. However I was able to logon again and send a message and received a reply so their system works.

buen camino

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
