hi,
I am wondering what to do if one member in my group is not able to continue in the middle of a stage.are there Taxis or other transportations to bring us to the next town??Peter

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
You might walk to the nearest locality and ask for help. Taxis are available, of course, but not everywhere. In case of an emergency call 112 the European number for assistance. The switchboard operator will speak most common languages and connect you with the closest emergency service. 112 can be called from all mobile phones even those with a non-available service plan.

you will also probably never be more than an hour and a half (perhaps even less) from a fully functional hospital

Yes, you can hire taxis to take you or someone else to the next town. You will see plenty of advertisements for them along the Camino and in the albergues.

I met a woman in an albergue in Los Arcos who had twisted her ankle badly and was on crutches. She had been walking with two companions before her injury. She was taking taxis to the next albergue each day and waiting for her companions to arrive.
