Hi all, just a word about a wonderful pilgrim meal with great ambience and wonderful service. Complexo Xacobeo in Triacastela. The offer some great regional meals and some of your typical pilgrim fare. Nice portions, great presentation and good service. Enjoy

I ate there in March, after a day spent climbing to O'Cebreiro in 6 inches of snow, and down again, still in 4-6 inches of snow then in driving wind and sleet as far as Fonfria where everything was closed. I took a taxi down to Tricastela and stayed in Complexo Xacobeo.
A lovely heated boot-drying cupboard beside the roaring fireplace was a happy discovery, and I think the brandy-hot-chocolate was the best I ever tasted! Set me up nicely for a delicious meal. Breakfast the next morning was good too, it kept me going through more snow, sleet and rain to Samos.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

While walking every day on the Camino, there is a rhythm to checking into a new albergue each evening. And for the hospitaleros, there is a repetitive rhythm to checking in new groups of pilgrims each day, just like the day before. I'm sure we all start to look just the same to them. Every once in awhile, you check into an albergue and get the feeling they have been waiting just for you. You feel seen, and your special experience as a pilgrim appreciated just from small gestures on their parts. These precious instances are engraved in our memories. Case Fernanda on the Portugues comes to mind and Ultreia in Castrojeriz, too. A small town on the way to Finisterre that invited us pilgrims to join them for a local Saint's day fiesta, jumping over a bonfire and eating grilled sardines. I wonder if they know how we carry these memories on forever?

Hello all. Here to give a brief account of my (and many others) first day on the Camino on May 1. The trip to Roncesvalles was tough. I went Valcarlos route because napoleon was very ill advised...
I am wondering how you disconnect, in part, from the world. I have a couple of reasons that I need to be accessible but, I don't want to be constantly connected on this journey. Ideas?
Can anyone tell me if food is available there… anyone stayed recently? Cheers
If you’re walking the Camino Portugues right now I’d recommend you avoid the complementario route into Pontevedra. While it is quiet and green and follows the river, it’s also a muddy mess. I...
