Hi everybody,

we are beginning our camino from Porto this sunday :) I would like to ask you if it is possible to buy a guide right on the spot and if yes... in what kind of shop could we get it? I have found online this guide by John Brierley but it takes too long to get here :)

Hi!

It's too bad that the Brierely guide won't get to you in time.
But try this guide, which you can download and print off, all for a mere donation. I haven't done it myself yet, but they seem good since they are constantly updated based on pilgrim's feedback.

I will be walking from Porto from next Wednesday.
Do you know roughly how much the Alberges cost? I've heard that they are mostly free, you give a donation, or cost an average of €5.

Have a good trip.

surzue, you can buy Brierley's guide on a shop called FNAC that exist in Porto. Otherwise, on the way, you'll find a small café in a place called Pedra Furada (the café has the same name) which has one vast collection of Camiño memorabilia, and the owner it's a very nice guy! He have some guides to sell, you can buy them for the same price has you'll find in other places.

The Albergues right now have a cost of 6€ (the ones from the Via Xacobea), and then you have private Alberegues that go from 10 to 15€.

Best Regards
Diogo

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Hi all,

If I would go again, I would buy the shorter version of the guide that only contains the maps and accommodations. I saw this one for example in the famous bookshop Livraria Lello in Porto.

Bom caminho,

Mira
