Camino Frances (April -May2016)
Hello all,

I've been lurking on the forum for some time now and wanted to say what a great resource it has been for me. I'll be starting the Camino Frances in early April and will be starting off alone.

Transportation has been booked to Pamplona and back from Santiago Compostela allowing 36 days for the journey. I am at once excited and anxious, as I’ll be on a 500 mile walk while having my 62nd birthday.

I must say that most of the folks I talk to have no real knowledge of this pilgrimage, one asked if it was the same as the El Camino Real. When I explain what I'm doing, reactions cover the full spectrum of retorts from "Are you insane?" to " You lucky bastard". To some degree I'll be carrying the hopes and good wishes of a hundred people in my pack who would love to leave the rat race, if only for a while.

I would define myself as a seeker whose not sure what he's seeking at this point. :)

Again, Thanks for your help and guidance!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Hi Mike, you will have a great time.
Buen Camino, Peter.

Ha ha, are you crazy, you lucky *()_&*()?????!!!!

You have a great plan, beginning in Pamplona. That is a beautiful city, and as you are alone and sound just a tiny bit amazed at what you are setting yourself up for, will have missed some of the big climbing and difficult downhills before Pamplona. Good plan!

Make sure you take time to enjoy some good yummy food in Pamplona, and have a good luck at that beautiful church.

Buen Camino!
