Welcome to the forums!

The Coastal route is pretty easy to follow with fairly good waymarkings. The good thing is that even if you do wander a bit off-route, it is very easy to figure out how to get back on it. If you have any questions, ask away – everyone here tends to be friendly and helpful.

Happy New Year!

Hello, I am Heleen from the Netherlands. I am also going to walk my first Camino ( Portugues ) starting in May. I am geinig to start A part of the coastal route and then the central route. I also want to walk the Espiritual. When are you starting.

Its remarkably difficult to get lost on the Portuguese Camino! My 12 year old daughter and I walked it a couple of years ago, and to keep her interested I suggested she counted the yellow arrows as we went along, and stopped to take a photo every 100 arrows. We got to several hundred very quickly, and were into the thousands by the Spanish border. The good thing about getting lost is you can always find your way again very easily. Fear not, if you have half as good a time as we did you will have a great walk. (My daughter loved it, we are going back for our third camino this spring).

Just keep the sea to your left and you can't go wrong!
