Firstly...hello everyone and my absolute apologies for the questions I'm about to ask!! My partner, and my rock, has been walking the El Camino de Santiago for the past 3 weeks and started at the very beginning in St Jean! He started this amazing pilgrimage with a friend to raise money for a charity to raise awareness for a dear friend who he sadly lost to Huntingtons Disease! Unfortunately after day one across the Pyranees my partners friend had to quit the Camino after a bad fall so now my love is on his own! For the past fortnight he has been begging me to come out and finish the pilgrage with him! I didn't think it would be possible with my job but I have managed to drop everything so I can get out on Friday and walk from Sarria to Santiago with him :) I've looked at busses, timetables, taxis and am really not prepared at all as I didn't see this happening! If anyone out there will be arriving in Santiago this Friday (21st September) morning and wouldn't mind some company to Sarria, please let me know! I cannot speak Spanish and I'm a little nervous about the whole thing! Sorry for such a random post, as you may have guessed...I'm a little worried how to get to Sarria! Are there regular busses to Lugo? Also is it possible to walk from Lugo to Sarria as I cannot find a route!? My apologies again of this has already been discussed...am rather lost :)

Kerry, don't worry too much about the language, I had about 30 words of Spanish when I did the same stretch as you 3 weeks ago, por favor, gracias, cafe con leche y tostado ( coffee and toasted bread with jam ) will take you a long way. If you have to overnight in Lugo I can heartily recommend Hotel Mendez Nunez ( €42 approx ) about 6 minutes walk from the bus depot, 2nd bus in morning for Sarria leaves at 8.30 am weekdays and takes about 30 minutes to get to Sarria.

You're in for a treat on this stretch of the Camino, some lovely forest paths and quiet roads and great little cafe/bars to relax a few times each day, buen camino.

Thanks so much Seamus! I'm really looking forward to the Camino, and I'm certain I'll be fine :) thanks for your advice...it's made me feel a lot more relaxed :)
Thanks again

Kerry, just to add there are some daily trains between Lugo and Sarria, too. You can get information (even in english or french language) in http://www.renfe.com
