Hi from Michaela in Australia!

In a couple of year's time I'll be retiring, and I intend to return to the continent of my birth ( Europe) and walk from Holywell to Santiago. I've walked a fair bit of the Bicentennial National Trail here, in company with my donkey, and dream of a grand journey across Europe by a similar mode of travel.

Am I totally mad? Walking across Europe by tracks and paths and pilgrim routes must surely be easier than the BNT ... if/when I reach Santiago, I'd like to walk to Fatima and maybe Rome.

Would love to hear from others who have walked with a pack animal!

Hi and welcome Michaela,

I remember that one or our members (Barbara) mentioned that she walked with her donkey. Have a look here (at the bottom):

Regarding if you are mad or not... :) compared to who? :)

Have a look at the routes that our member Peter Robins has walked:

I hope you find what you are looking for in this forum.

Buen camino,
