Hi Simpsons -
Please keep me informed about your trip. I will be starting the more tradional Camino Francis on Sept 7th and walking to Santiago. NEXT Spring I want to do the route you are doing. I have always wanted to go to Portugal and just never made it. I am thinking about doing it in late March with my partner. She is a good walker but not real enthusiastic about carrying a pack or staying in refuges. We may have to do hostels and small hotels which would reduce the need (and weight) for some sleeping gear.
Take care and buen camino, Bill
Tell me all about your route from Oporto when you come back as I am planning this route from Lisbon next spring. As far as I know refuges in Portugal are scarce but many hostals and pensions exist. Once in Spain you will see refuges along the way. Have fun.
