Hi everyone!
You can see by my Stats that I have been fortunate enough to visit the Camino twice before. This year I tried to resist as my son is getting married and the whole family has a different focus, but I am powerless and feel 'called' again to repeat my journey from St Jean to Burgos.
Hoping to start on 18th of September if I can get a bed at Orrison, didn't stay there last time and really regretted it. I was lucky enough on both my trips to meet some people I had chatted to on the Forum. The second time was totally random as gmonkey - aka Grace wasn't quite sure of her dates, but second day on Camino at breakfast we were having a lovely conversation when she mentioned the Forum and we realised we 'knew' each other! Spent the next few days together and met several times over the next couple of weeks, she walked into Santiago a day ahead of me and was there to meet me when I arrived! I'm so excited to begin again, I know I will never manage a whole Camino in one go until I retire but I don't really want to holiday anywhere else now, visiting for 2 weeks is amazing and I'm lucky enough living in the UK to be able to do that. Buen Camino Perigrinos everywhere x

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Thanks Nuala! Me too! I just made this decision and am sooo happy, a piece of me was really sad that I wasn't going this year, but now I am!
I was absolutely fizzing with excitement on my first trip, felt like a teenager again, hoping to channel that energy again!
:D

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Thanks wayfarer, I just can't help myself!

I feel like we should all say in unison "hi Griffin" and start applauding :) I don't really understand my obsession but I am in the same boat as you I can't go every year until retire. My solution is to save my holidays and as it works out every 3 years I can do a 5 week trip. In the mean time I read these posts and stay as connected as I can. Thanks for this Thread Griffin!

Buen Camino!

Mark

You're welcome Mark! I just can't hold my delight inside!
We all know though that the Camino will always be there whenever we feel the urge to return, I always feel comforted knowing this.
I can't explain to friends and family why I must go again except for my son Ben who walked himself in 2013, he gets it!
Its always different, meeting great people, but it's also always the same, walking in beautiful countryside.
I'm literally jumping for joy today, my pilgrimage has started already!
Buen Camino :D

Hi Al
I guess everyone has their own kind of craziness? I'm glad to be 'Camino Crazy'!!!
I really want to go right now, just thinking about it and I'm buzzing like a teenager in love!
I suppose there are much worse things I could be addicted to???

Sarah

Wonderful! My stepdaughter is getting married 19 September, and I have had to schedule my Camino around that---after that. It was a push, but I figured it out. I had to sit down with her in February and squeeze a month and etc. out of her. The "unknown" was driving me crazy. I initially wanted to leave in early September, but will fly out of the Pac NW 28 September and begin my pilgrimage from SJPP on 1 October. I already have my evening in Orisson booked for Oct 1 night of, and I am glad to have things all organized. Now, it's just "on on" (Hash House Harriers allusion there) until September--the wedding and camino month! I am looking forward to a wonderful summer of exercise and nature, as always (during my summers).

Hi Deb,
It's a great time of year to walk ,you will have the time of your life! I'm waiting on a message from Orisson just hope I haven't left it too late to book, will adjust my dates if I must, and if necessary will cross the Pyrenees in one go but will definitely send my pack if I'm doing it in a 'oner'.
This is going to be such a memorable year for you.
Good luck and Buen Camino :)
Sarah
