My sister-in-law and I will be walking our third camino having walked the Frances in 2011 and the Via de la Plata in 2013 (our favourite so far). We again look forward to taking each day as it comes and enjoying all the camino has to offer.

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
It's a lovely time to walk - the wild flowers are stunning and the fields are full of newly growing crops. And the poppies are just amazing - but if you start in Santarem you will miss the most dazzling display which was about 15 kms earlier. It's s great walk - you'll love it.
Bom Caminho!

....and do keep in mind - if you were to start around Santarem (lovely place) - the 17th of May is FATIMA day - and lots and lots of pilgrims are on their way to Fatima -
i'd recommend to book ahead for lodgings when you can (i stayed at the Santarem Hostel and liked it a lot)
