Hope it clears up for you Al. The weather forecast made us think that we were glad not to be on the Camino Inglés at present. (Every cloud has a silver lining) We went to the Devon County Show instead (today). Cars had to be pushed the final few feet into line to park and then towed out of the field by a tractor when we left - ours included.
The Camino gear was very useful at times - rucksacs on, wore our boots all day and ponchos when it rained.
We felt quite at home.

Had a similar experience in 2012. Both boots weighed a few kilos extra due to the clinging clay mud.
Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Gaiters will be much more effective. Has been a rainy Spring from just after Easter into early summer everywhere from Vezelay until Hotanos and beyond.

Gaiters don't stop the lead-heavy clods of mud that stick like concrete to the soles of shoes!
