Time of past OR future Camino
plan to walk some of it in APRIL 2014
Myself and my husband have booked flights to Santiago de Compostela in April 2014 and hoped to walk some of the Camino. I know we are starting from end but is it possible to just book a night in a hotel when we arrive and plan to walk for a few days and find accommodation en route. We hoped to walk between 10- 15 kms each day. We are there for 5 nights?

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

Hi Rose!
Many pilgrims fly into Santiago, then take a BUS or TRAIN to a convenient starting point on the Camino. I'm doing that in May! :)
So ... if you plan to average, say, 12 kms a day, and plan to walk for maybe 4 days, that = 50 kms. So find a town on the Camino about 50 kms from Santiago, and take a bus there, before walking back.
If you check the forum for accommodation along your chosen 50 kms stretch, you'll have a good idea where you'll be able to stay each night.
You'll have a great time - but beware! You will probably catch the Camino bug and want to return again and again!
Good luck and buen camino!
