I would dread an albergue night if someone had one of these

Teen Invents Rain, Fire-proof Sleeping Bag for Homeless
An Irish girl has invented a life-saving sleeping bag for the homeless–with the added benefit of creating jobs for some former street dwellers.
Emily Duffy came up with the idea after “living rough” for a day on Dublin’s streets, experiencing life as thehomeless do to raise money for a charity that helps them.

The 15-year-old Desmond College student thought cloth bags were too impractical — dirty, dangerous, and hard to keep dry.
Duffy’s invention, dubbed “Duffily Bags,” have a highly reflective, fire retardant and waterproof shell. Velcro straps replace the usual zippers, allowing the user to get in and out more easily.

Good on her!

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
To often I complain about Gen Y,Z as being to self absorbed and narcissistic, as all I see are generally the ones that fit this mold with their constant selfie and social media updates. Every so often I see that these folks are just generous and conscious as any other generation, just with more technology and remind my self to be less judgmental. Fighting the crabbiness that can come with age.

I think it's great the things young people are coming up with to help others.

Brilliant, both of you for bringing these to our attention.

I now have a vision of gite and albergue going out of business as the Duffily Bag becomes de rigeur

And a mobile Orange Laundry or three set up at Lavacolla (and elsewhere).

Great idea ,makes me proud to be Irish .

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
This year's young Australians of the year took a different approach http://www.smh.com.au/federal-polit...-australians-of-the-year-20160125-gmdpqh.html to helping the homeless. I think it's great the things young people are coming up with to help others.

Well earned recognition for two innovative and caring young men. There is also Swags for the Homeless that provides but also publically sells a fire retardant Backpack Bed with built in camp mat. At 2.9kg an option for the Camino?

Money stolen from bag on bed while sleeping. Estelle municipal hostel. Not a big inconvenience as my passport and credit cards were left.
