If Johan Cruijff had joined Yogi Berra on the Camino

Time of past OR future Camino
Reality is frequently inaccurate
After reading the resurrected Yogi Berra thread this morning, I suddenly remembered this afternoon that we have had our own Yogi Berra in Holland.

Johan Cruijff wasn't just one of the best footballers ever, he was also inimitable when it came to making statements that could range anywhere between brilliantly insightfull or stating the obvious. Most often we wouldn't know which.

Like in the Yogi thread I've tried to pick some of his quotes that could be relevant to the Camino. They lose a bit in translation, because his Dutch was rather creative and his speech was very distinct, but I hope you get the picture.

Every disadvantage has its advantage.

Before I make a mistake, I don't make that mistake.

Simple is the most difficult.

You will only see it if you get it.

If you aren't somewhere, you're either too early or too late.

I'm against everything. Untill I've made a decision, then I'm all for it.

If I would want you to understand, I would have explained it better.

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
Johan was ongekend bijzonder. In zijn vroeger jaren, later al coach en altijd als mens!

(excuse for the dutch words, but I was complimenting JC)

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
I love the following quote from Johan ,

Ik spreek beter Spaans dan welke Nederlander dan ook , maar slechter Spaans dan welke Spanjaard dan ook .

I don’t translate this quote I leave it like it is . It will be a challange for the not Dutch
and Flemish speaking Pilgrims . ;)

Wish you all well ,Peter .
