My wife and I walked to the Decathlon sporting goods store; it's about 1.5 - 2 miles from the Le Puy tourist office. It has an excellent supply of camping and hiking gear. We bought a cover for a backpack (we had somehow lost one of ours) and a bunch of high energy bars.
