Hello Tonette,
It is nerve wracking trying to cater for all eventualities when planning your camino - especially if you don't know what the weather is going to do!
The locals in St Jean are very caring of pilgrims and will advise you about crossing to Roncesvalles. Other pilgrims will be hanging about waiting for the same info so you won't be alone.
If you are pressed for time and can't wait a day or two, take the road route. It is also very beautiful and will be safer than the route Napoleon. If that isn't possible, there are taxis that can transport you to Roncesvalles or to Pamplona. Ask at the refuge.
Santos advised that the Albergue L'Esprit du Chemin doesn't open until 8th April. There are other albergues and a gite where you can stay in St Jean. Albergue de St Jean Pied de Port at 55 Rue de la Citadelle, a Gite d'etape (charges E7) and Sous un Chemin d'etoile also E7.
If you make it to Roncesvalles, you will have to take the morning bus to Pamplona. You can take a train from there to Leon. There is a train at 12h36 that arrives at 16h37 and costs about 30 E.
Go well peregrina and let us know how it works out for you. There are many internet points along the way:
NB: Some are in Internet Cafés, bars, libraries or coin-operated machines in the refuge, e.g.: Boadilla, Villafranca.
