I'm off on another camino

Time of past OR future Camino

With a very short notice I was able to take a week off work and without doubt I knew it was time for another camino. With only a week off, I decided to walk the Ingles. I did it last year with my caminofriend from The Netherlands and now I will do it myself.
In an hour I'm off to the airport and I'll arrive very late tonight in SdC. And tomorrow I'll go by bus to Ferrol and start walking early Sunday morning. The weather forecast says a lot of rain all next week so I have my rain gear and my rain poncho in my Osprey. Come rain, I'll be ready.
It has been a tough year with my mother passing away and I need this time out to think and remember. To realize my loss. And what better place to do it than the Camino.
Next Friday I'll be at the meeting point in SdC and it would be such a treat to meet other Forummembers. So if you are in town, please stop by at the cafe.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I too lost my mother recently and envy you the time you will have to remember, mourn and celebrate. I wish I was taking that journey.
Peace and buen camino.

Have a good pilgrimage and wrap up well. We walked during Holy Week and went from suffering heat exhaustion to nearly being drowned by the rain and blown over by the wind - such are the joys of Galicia! Buen Camino!

Hi Ekelund,

You will be halfway when I begin the pretty much exact same trip (late into SdC, bus to Ferrol next day) on Wednesday. I'm walking under similar circumstances - a sudden opportunity for a week off and the grief of losing a parent, but this will be my first, wishing you a wonderful Camino and not so much rain that your experience is soggy.

Buen Camino

On the Camino as in life, I believe we have no choice but to put one foot in front of the other and keep on going
