51-year-old Spanish teacher from the U.S. here (Portland, Maine). Attended summer courses at the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela in 2002 and loved it there. Have wanted to return and do the Camino ever since. Planning on June 2008!
I am considering hooking up with a study or tour group. I realize that there would be trade-offs involved, which is why I haven't committed myself to that option yet. But if anyone has any experience with a group, I'd be very interested in hearing about it. I'd be more interested in a group with an academic focus. I don't care about accommodations or the things usually associated with tours, but rather the learning experience and the companionship. A Spanish, French, or Italian-speaking group would be a plus for the language practice. Limited to mid-June to mid-August due to the local school calendar.
Hablo español, je parle français, parlo italiano. ¡Buen camino a tod@s!
