Time of past OR future Camino
2021
Greetings all! I’m 63 and retired in June after 42 years in commercial nuclear power. I’m from South Carolina in the US and this will be my first Camino. I’m flying into Madrid on 9/11 and will start the Camino from Pamplona on 11/13. The Camino has been one of my bucket list items for many years and will become the first one to be completed. Thanks to all for the valuable info and I hope to see you along the Way. Buen Camino!

Hello, @heydave101, and welcome to the forum.

Wishing you a very buen camino!

Since you announced your date of departure, I took the liberty of adding your date to the calendar. I think the calendar is a great way to see who else is starting around the same time. I know that we have gotten out of the habit of using it (since virtually no one was walking for the last 18 months), but now that people are heading back, I would encourage forum members to use the calendar.

You can see the calendar here: https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/calendar/

It’s also accessible onthe blue header line running on top of the posts — it comes right after the “members” button.

Buen Camino! Since it looks like you are allowing some sightseeing time, you may want to consider a visit to St Michael of Aralar outside of Pamplona. When I walked there was no easy way to get there AND the statue of St Michael wasn’t there, but was on its annual post Easter road trip. In planning a return I see there are now buses to there (although not sure with covid).
at any rate, enjoy your pilgrimage!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
