Introduction

Rod

Hi,
My name is Rod and I am planning to walk the Camino in September 2007. Originally I was doing solo but now I have a mate who wants to join me on the pilgrimage. He is keen to camp on the French/Spanish Boarder on our fist night; can anyone tell me if this is possible?
The plan is to fly into Dublin from Melbourne (Australia) catch up with some family and then fly to Biarritz and then by train from Bayonne to St Jean and then start from there. Would welcome some comment on this basic plan

Rod,
I've done the Dublin-Biarritz-St. Jean part and that works well. I just read recently that from March this year there will be direct flights from Santiago to Dublin for your return journey, not that you'll want to leave the camino of course but that's another story...

Good luck

Rod,

An American I met on the camino recently camped just where you intend to. The border is near the only fountain in a long stretch, so water shouldn't be a problem.
