Is there a Post Office in Bilbao or Irun Bus Station?

Time of past OR future Camino
Primitivo (2012), Invierno or Portugués (Planned)
Hi there. I plan to walk a portion of the "Norte" (Irun - Bilbao) and then do the "Primitivo", starting in Oviedo. My journey in Irun will begin on Sept. 19.

I will fly into Bilbao on Sept. 17, and spend the night there.

On Sept. 18 I will bus to Irun and spend the night there before starting the Camino the following day.

I have a small, "carry on" suitcase which I will not be taking with me on the walk, but will need after finishing the Camino. I will be using the following service to store my suitcase (in Santiago) while I walk:

[edited by ivar]Updated link since one service stopped working, and a new is up and running:

Question: is there a post office at the Bilbao or Irun bus station from where I can send my suitcase to Santiago? Any help would be appreciated.

Peace to one and all,
Edgar

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I have traveled from the Bilbao bus station twice and I can not picture any possibility of a post office right there. It's a large bus station but it is mostly outdoors. For example, when I traveled from there in 2005 and 2007, the ticket booths and even the waiting areas were outside.

Unless you already know which part of the day (and/or which days) the post office in Irun will be open, I think you would be wise to use a post office in Bilbao.

Bilbao is an interesting place to visit so it would be well worth spending extra time there if you have to juggle your schedule to deal with your suitcase.

Ok, thanks Nancy. I was wondering whether I should just go directly onward to Irun but I'm glad I chose to spend a night in Bilbao (I will spend one more at the end of my trip).

So that settles it for me: I will need to find a way to send my suitcase from Bilbao! :)

Peace.
