In Australia the common name for these plants is the St james Lily. I have hundreds growing in my garden, they flower in spring and are such a cheerful vibrant red. It was only after my first walk along the Camino that I found out the name of these bulbs and was surprised, and thrilled, to find a connection to Santiago de Compostela.

Well isn't that gorgeous? Any idea if those grow in the US? They would make a lovely addition to my garden this year I think. What a lovely shape.
