Last 100 km: How to Reach Starting Point?

Hi!
I hiked most of Camino Frances (some bussing due to injuries) starting in Saint John Pied de Port last year with my mother. For us, it was pretty simple to get the train in and start at the "start" of the trail.
Next summer, I am planning a trip with my best friend who has NEVER hiked before (I previously did the Appalachian Trail before doing Camino), and I thought it would be in our best interests to only do the last 100 kilometers. That way, she could get her first compostela and get a taste for the trail without overwhelming her with crossing the mountains or walking more than a few miles every day.
My question is, what is the best way to reach the start of the last 100 kilometer section? What town do you recommend as a setting off point, for those who have gone this route?
What do you recommend for getting to the starting point? Is there any convenient train or airport that you used?

Hi, Neva,

Depends which route you want to choose to walk for the last 100km. There are 8 of them (Ingles, Norte, Primitivo, Frances, Invierno, Sanabres, Portugues and Muxia/Fisterra Combo clock-wise from North) and almost all of the 100km starting points on these routes have very good train and/or bus connections with Santiago.

Also the time of the year may be of some significance.

We would likely be starting in May after the school year ends (we're both in college). I would like to take Camino Frances so I could relive some memories from last year!
So would you recommend flying into Santiago and then bussing or taking a train to the starting point?

Sarria is official/usual 100km starting point on Frances. Easiest is to take bus from Santiago airport via Lugo to Sarria.

I believe Sarria is the official starting point for the last 100km. You might want to take the alternate route going toward the reservoir in Portamarin. The original way is a rocky, steep downhill.
