The albergues in the Province of Lugo recorded 95% occupancy during the month of July.
This represents the best figure in history of a year that is not Holy Year. This month there were 19,500 overnight stays in these facilities, most of those in Cebreiro and Portomarín .
The statistics are not a 'isolated' on the French road only but the other two pathways that pass through Santiago Lugo, the North and Primitivo Camino, also recorded increases in overnight stays.
The delegate of the territorial Xunta highlighted 'the promotion and economic movement that results for the province. Visitors and pilgrims spend on average 50 euros per day.
