I would like to mail some clothes and a few other items I will want after my Camino. Is it difficult to mail it from France or should I just carry the extra kilo to Spain and mail from there? I know cost will most likely depend upon weight but does anyone know what a 1 kilo pkg will cost to mail from France? Thank you.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
You can post from St Jean during the week - 9am to 12pm and then 2pm to 5pm. Saturdays 9am to 12pm (closed Sundays).
It might be a little more costly to post from St Jean but it could cost you €7 per stage to have the stuff transported so you might as well post it.

I just ran the "Calculateur de tarif" here
http://www.laposte.fr/particulier/outils/calculateur-de-tarif
... and it told me that a 1kg parcel from France to Spain would be €16,15

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Ivar would you know anyone who would pick up a suitcase and take it forward to each stage hotel and how much this would cost overall or per stage from Sarria to Santiago.

Many thanks

€3 per item up to 15kg per stage, up to 25km. €5 into santiago. Xacotrans and a few others.

Sillydoll thank you for taking the time to respond

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Most transfer companies starting from St Jean charge €7 per bag per stage. If you are in a group the cost goes down according to the number of bags they transport. From Sarria competition is fierce and there are at least a dozen luggage transfer companies vying for your business, all reliable, all charging the same €3 per stage. They charge more to enter the old quarter of the city hence the €5 on the last day.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
