Does anyone have experience of this section at this time of year. I am really interested to hear
information about what is open and where. Albergues, bars, hostals,hotels, etc.

Most websites describe winters on the meseta as harsh, cold and raw, with severe winds and some snowstorms.
Looking through the CSJ guide book, these are the towns on the meseta with albergues - some might be open all year but the guide book doesn't always say.
Villabilla 1 refuge
Tardajos 1 refuge
Rabe de la Calzadas 2 refuges (1 closed in winter)
Hornillos del Camino 1 Refuge
Arroyo San Bol closed in winter
Honstanas 3 refuges 2 closed in winter
San Anton Convent ruins - May - September
Castrojeriz 4 refuges - not sure - 1 may close in winter
Hospital San Nicolas/Itero del Castillo June to September
Itero de la Vega - 1 refuge open all year
Boadilla del Camino 2 refuges - 1 April to October and Municipal
Fromista - 1 refuge (not sure)
Poblacion de Campos - 1 refuge - May to October
Villacazar de Sirga - 1 refuge Closed in winter
Carrion de los Condes - 3 refuges - 1 closed in winter
Calzadilla - 1 refuge open all year
Ledigos - 1 refuge (unpredictable after September)
Terradillos de los Templarios - 2 refuges
Moratinos - open if at home?
San Nicolas - 1 refuge April to October
Sahagun - 2 refuges - also a small winter refuge near Arco San Benito
Calzada del Coto - 1 basic refuge
Bercianos - 1 refuge
el Burgo Ranero - 2 refuges
Reliegos - 1 refuge
Mansilla de las Mulas - 1 refuge
Puent de Villarente - 2 refuges
