Hi everyone,

I'll be starting the Camino from StJean on May 14... My mom has done the walk before but started in Spain and not on the French side. Anyone have any recommendations for a hostel in StJean? As a young female, I would like to take the precaution of prebooking for the first night..

I guess I should have mentioned I am on a budget... Esprit looked great because it seems so pilgrim friendly, and they give you snacks for the next day and all for a great price! Also, would like to meet people as I am walking alone.

Any other ideas? The place you recommended looked great Sil but out of my budget, any other referrals?

There is another refuge in St Jean but it will probably also be full.

She used to charge about 10 euro for a bed.
As you will be arriving late, you could try sending an email to the pilgrims office and ask their advice

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your help, looks like next week will be a busy week in St.Jean but I finally found room and booked at Gite Bonhomme. The gentleman was very friendly and helpful on the phone. Very good price too, at 13 euros including breakfast.

Has anyone stayed here before? I am looking forward to it!
