Hello everyone,

My name is Robert, and I'm planning to do the Camino Frances next Spring. I'm a native New Yorker, but have lived around the U.S. and in Mexico & Jamaica. I've also backpacked across western Europe and am a certified Jerusalem pilgrim (thus the J.P. cross).

I'm an active Catholic and am looking forward to the religious dimension of the Camino. I have a graduate degree in philosophy and theology and can talk to just about anyone about God, the universe and everything should they be so inclined. Being an amateur historian also helps.

I'm also a singer, and am memorizing a bunch of secular and sacred songs for the Camino. I'm also planning to carry a copy of Magnificat, a pocket-sized magazine that has morning & evening prayer, daily Mass readings & night prayer for each day. It's lightweight, and I recommend it to anyone who may be so inclined. You can order it at http://www.magnificat.net/us/indexus.htm

Like most of you, I'm excited as heck about the Camino, and am thankful to Ivar for the opportunity to network with all of you via the forum and hopefully in person one day.

While the journey is what makes the Camino, I also can't wait to be able to post this one day:

Hi Robert! I'm from Texas & I'm planning my Camino for May/early June. :D Maybe our paths will cross. As to your other thread, I was hoping to lose more than 15 lbs. Oh well.

Buen Camino!
