Next spring, I was wanting to see some of the Portuguese coastal route, but will have limited time. I was thinking about starting in Vigo and walking until that route joins the interior at Redondela, at which point I would walk the interior route through Pontevedra, Caldas de Reis, Padron and finally SDC. Would this be enough in kilometers to earn a compostela or should I start in Nigran or even Baiona?

Hi Jim, start in Nigran as the 100km marker is between Nigran and Vigo.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi, Starting in Vigo would not give you the minimum 100km required for your compostela. Why not start in Baiona? It is a very nice place to start and will give you about 110km to Santiago.

Hi, this sign is actually now repainted and it says 115 km to Santiago. It is in a forest between Nigran and Vigo. I just saw it few days ago. I will see if I find pictures.

You are correct!
