Has anyone bought the MMDD La Carte map? I'm walking from Le Puy for about 18-19 days which
will include variants. I was going to buy Section 1 of the guide book but don't read French. Wondering if
the map has all the pertinent info. Thanks!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

Hi Lisa, I am curious about that map, too.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
Yes, I understand about the other information that is not in French. However, I think I have most of that from a link to a pdf which I found on the Le Puy FB page. I will be carrying my phone and have screen shots of the daily sections. I'm just looking for detailed map info. Not sure how detailed the La Carte is. Anyone?

Don't need detail. MiamMiamDodo maps a enough. Michelin do a small light map book available in Le Puy tourist office and cathedral shop. It is excellent.

Oops. Just realised I got it. I tore out pages for the stretch of walk I needed. Maps are totally sufficient as far as maps go. Signage idiot proof on this route.

Hey, thanks! I just dug a little deeper and found that La Carte weighs 4 1/2 ounces and measures 8 1/2” x 5 1/4”.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Lisa, I "may" possibly buy the Michelin map at the tourist office if we still need it for after you leave if its not to expensive.

La Carte has both maps and cross-section profiles but no accomm. information. Some people swear by it [and I have a copy] but imho the MMD 1 maps are easier to follow and there’s the added advantage of all the other info ... the best maps bar none can be found in the FFRP TopoGuide and/or iPhiGéNie smartphone app ... if it is detailed maps that you are after??

I thought La Carte was excellent, especially during the first half, for getting an overall sense of how the trail would be. I used it to plot out where bank machines were (there were some long stretches without any), and to get an idea on whether I needed to pack a lunch or rely on finding food along the way.

But it's optional. I relied on the main guidebook, and just used the map as an adjunct.
