Monastery of Iranzu

Fall (2019)?
I will be walking the Camino Frances in September and have a great interest in monasteries and medieval monastic architecture, as I was a Cistercian monk (Trappist) for about 12 years. I have just discovered photos of a 12th century monastic cloister in a monastery called Monasterio de Santa María la Real de Iranzu. It is gorgeous and the You Tube video I watched said that it was in the 'vicinity' of the Camino de Santiago - "En los aledanos del Camino de Santiago". My question is - Has anyone ever visited this monastery and how far from the regular path is it? I am continuing to try to find more info, but thought I'd ask the forum since there is so much experience of the camino here.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Mark,

See more about the monastery of Iranzu in this earlier Forum thread. Iranzu is also on my bucket list!

Another Forum thread discusses monasteries on the caminos. See more here. Return to post #26 in this second thread for my list of CF Monasteries/Convents/Chapter
houses which host pilgrims, described and now located on an interactive Google map. Happy plotting!

Buen camino!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
